Mathematics and English
At Stepping Stones Alternative Provision, our programme is designed to complement and enhance our pupils’ existing curriculum and timetable. We recognise that many young people benefit from positive reinforcement, particularly in Mathematics and English. A significant challenge for many of our students is developing the confidence to engage with their learning.
To support this, we offer ASDAN and AQA awards, which not only align with their current studies but also enrich their educational experience by fostering a sense of achievement. This, alongside their existing curriculum, helps instil self-belief, reduce the fear of failure, and boost confidence.
Our AQA Awards provide students with immediate recognition for their efforts, while our ASDAN Awards enable them to build a learning portfolio, showcasing their hard work and earning credits along the way. ASDAN English and Mathematics Awards offer opportunities to develop and understand some of the main topics involved with students GCSE Mathematics, English Language and Literature whilst promoting the application of these key attributes required to be successful within these areas.
Introducing BKSB – Personalised Support in English and Maths
We are introducing BKSB as a valuable tool to help identify each student’s strengths and areas for improvement in English and Mathematics. BKSB provides an initial assessment, followed by tailored learning resources designed to meet individual needs.
This personalised approach ensures that every learner receives the right level of support, helping them to build confidence, fill knowledge gaps and make meaningful progress at their own pace. By understanding where support is needed most, we can guide students more effectively on their learning journey and help them achieve success in these essential subjects.
Sports Related Awards
At Stepping Stones, we tailor our courses to suit our learners, enhancing both engagement and enjoyment. We offer a wide range of sports-related courses and awards, including Sports Leadership, Football, and Dodgeball. Our sports programme is continuously evolving as we support young people in achieving new awards and qualifications.
Our aim is to lay the foundations for our young people’s futures by helping them gain recognised qualifications while fostering a passion for sports in which they can thrive.
In addition, we offer AQA Awards in related areas, providing quick, positive reinforcement that boosts self-esteem and confidence, further enhancing engagement.
